New Delhi: Police have arrested one accused in the alleged gang rape of a minor girl at Aastha Kunj Park near Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir. According to police, three men approached the girl and her minor male friend while posing as policemen. They allegedly threatened the teenagers before sexually assaulting the girl, while one of the accused restrained her friend.

The incident was reported on Monday evening. Police received information at around 8:45 pm and began an investigation at the spot. The girl was taken for a medical examination and her statement was recorded. An FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

In the latest update, police arrested an accused identified as Asif after an exchange of fire in southeast Delhi. Police said the accused was injured in the leg during the encounter and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The other two accused remain on the run, according to police. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area and questioning people who may have witnessed the incident. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
